This was our last stop, Crete, this was the dinning room, notice they grow grass on the roof of the lower buildings, what's really odd, is eating breakfast, while watching them mow the lawn on a roof. In the distance to the right you can see the coast of Africa.

Hey,

I'm a blogging friend of Edie's. I just read your comment on your book club blog about Jane Eyre. I too just finished it and LOVED it! In high school it was an assigned read but I found it dark and dreary so I skipped and rented the movie come test time. Oh yeah, I failed miserably. Well I just had to say "hi" since I've been dying to talk to someone who's read it in the last decade. I hadn't found any until you. :) Good to meet you. -Jessica

Hiya Jessica,
SOOO glad you contacted me. The most amazing thing about the book, which is not in the movie, Jane actually is vindicated at Lowood, she is proven not to be a liar. Also Mr Rochester's has his hand amputated in the fire--never mentioned in the movie. I really loved the book, I hated to put it down. The closest movie is from Masterpiece Theatre I am supposed to be reading our Book Club book, but I feel compelled to start Withering Heights. Keep me updated on what you are reading next, we appear to have similar taste in authors. What may appear as spelling mistakes are not--I am English and we just spell some things differently, would hate you to think I was uneducated.

Pam, Thanks for your reply. I too loved the part where Jane is proven truthful. Didn't you just feel so bad for her? I don't remember the movie at all. I guess I'll have to rent it again. Do you remember which one you saw? I don't know if there are any newer ones but the one I saw back in like 1992 was super old. I think it's so great that you are staying young and fabulous. I think I'm going to follow in your foot steps and accomplish something new each year. I love setting goals and accomplishing them. Thanks for all your advice on savoring my time with the little ones. It's so true, I want to cry just thinking about how fast it will go. I had a copy of Wythering Heights but never read it either. I'm not sure what I'll read after A Well Educated Mind. I'm only on the 3rd chapter, I think it has a list but I'm not sure. Keep in touch. Are you a member of goodreads.com? If not you should join so we can compare book reviews and suggestions. I can't remember If I mentioned that before. BTW I wish we had the leaf/blower problem to deal with. Instead we have to reseed our lawn each winter so that we can have grass in the winter. It's a pain!
